The Carnival is an annual fundraising event and the culminating activity for SEE periods. Casady MD students were reading buddies for the pre-K, first, and second grade Andrew Johnson classes this year. Students modeled good reading skills and played sight word games with the children at the elementary school. Casady students enjoy an English project to create a children's storybook with the five story elements: exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution. Each story will also include a message such as perseverance, honesty, sharing, anti-bullying, etc. Storybooks will be donated to the classroom libraries at Andrew Johnson Elementary after evaluation by the seventh grade English teacher.
