The MD plans to make cards for Veterans to be delivered at the VA Medical Center. Children will make the recognition/appreciation cards in advisory during "Peace Week", 9/11-9/21. The new 2015-16 MD YAC will visit Veterans on 9/25 in groups of ten with a VA staff member. This is an optional service activity open to grades 5-8. Residents relish children's visits. I have tentatively scheduled the visit/card delivery for 9/25 at 4:30 PM through the office of Richard Maxey, Chief of VA Volunteer Services.
