The Redbud Classic is a local nonprofit race that takes place every April in Nichols Hills. This is the Redbud's 35th year, and the Redbud Classic is celebrating with a new kids' health initiative called Kids Run Redbud, which offers reduced entry fees for students and the opportunity for families to sponsor an additional child who cannot afford to run for those able to do so. ($10 for the Kids Fun Run and $15 for either the 5K or 10K)
The Redbud is reaching out to local schools to encourage participation by OKC kids in this healthy activity that gives back to the community with a fun inter-school competition for Best School Spirit, Most Participation, and Fastest Average Time. Casady will participate, along with over 10 other local schools..
The Redbud's beneficiary this year is Cleats for Kids - a great local group that helps to equip underprivileged children with sporting equipment to enable them to compete in sports.
