The award recognizes neighbors 18 and under working to improve and beautify Central Oklahoma neighborhoods. The honoree will be announced Nov. 5 at the Good Neighbor Awards Banquet.

"Over the past five years I have had the honor of watching this young girl become a strong positive role model for our community, her younger sister, and all the young ladies who attend the Boys and Girls Club of Oklahoma County," said A. Jaye Johnson, Community Relations and Facilities Director for the Boys and Girls Club of Oklahoma County, in her nomination letter for Mallory.

Casady Students Selected for
Youth Leadership Exchange
Each year, students from across the Oklahoma City area are selected for Youth Leadership Exchange, which is a part of Leadership Oklahoma City. This year, four Casady students have been selected to participate in the program. They are Seniors Lauren Elliott and Tek Kreidler, Junior Claire Darrow, and Sophomore Caroline Silver.

This year, approximately 200 students applied, representing 37 metro area high schools. From the pool, 48 were selected for Leadership Skills and 48 were chosen for Youth in Action. Each candidate must submit an application with reference letters and sit for an interview. Over the course of a year, members attend monthly class sessions and opening and closing retreats. Topics to be explored include leadership skills, personal growth, and community needs as well as ways to meet those needs.
