Celeste C.'15 and Casady;s Dean of Students, Marion Tolon (Coach T), are collaborating in raising awareness of Black History Month. Celeste in bringing to UD Chapel presentations black leaders throughout the month of February.
Examples of important figures being highlighted at Chapel are:
Redd Foxx was the stage name of John Elroy Sanford, an American comedian and actor best known for his role on the 1970s sitcom Sanford and Son.
Sidney Poitier became the first black Academy Award winner for first black Academy Award winner for Best Actor in 1964 receiving the honor for his performance in Lilies of the Field (1963)
