Annual Canned Food Drive
Casady's Upper Division community service club, Youth Active in the Community (YAC), will kick off the annual school-wide week-long food drive on Monday, Oct. 24. Students may bring canned meats, meat-based soups, canned fruits, canned vegetables, peanut butter, and canned beans and place them in the boxes near division offices. Collection boxes for Upper Division are in Bennett Athletic Center, Gaylord Student Center, and W.R. Johnston Math Building. Monetary donations are always accepted. Please remember that $1.00 equals six pounds of food, which equals six cans, which equals five Food Bank meals.
The Casady Cans Do Food and Fund Drive, is part of the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma's Students Against Hunger drive. One in six adults and one in four children in Oklahoma struggle with hunger every year
Last year, Casady’s drive donated 9,836 meals for hungry Oklahomans, and this year the School would like to donate even more. YAC will contact local businesses to match what the School donates. YAC firmly believes that by extending our hands to local businesses the School will be able to double the donations.
